Howdy all!

I've encountered the need to evaluate the Meijer G function for
large values of its argument: e.g., MeijerG[{{1/2,1,3/2},{}},{{1,1},{-1,0}},x]
for moderately large x, (e.g, x>10). The implementation in Mathematica 4.1 (Linux)
exhibits pathologies above x=15 or so. Despite lots of Web searches (GAMS,
Netlib, Google searches for this group), I've been unable to find, e.g.,
Fortran 77, canned routines to cope with this situation. Any suggestions?

(Apart from buying the $300 treatise by
Prudnikov, A. P.; Marichev, O. I.; and Brychkov, Yu. A. Integrals and Series,
Vol. 3: More Special Functions. Newark, NJ: Gordon and Breach, 1990.)

Thanks!
