elements properly:

In[1]:=
let = ToString /@ {a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k, l,
    m, n, o}
Out[1]=
{"a", "b", "c", "d", "e", "f", "g", "h", "i", "j", "k",
  "l", "m", "n", "o"}

In[2]:=
num = ToString /@ {1, 2}
