Now that P.J. Hinton has explained that
deleting the Klipper permits proper cut
and paste of cells in notebooks I can work
much better with Mathematica under Linux
and KDE.
There remains, however, another very annoying
problem. By normal editing of just a simple
expression or programming a function the
editor slips in characters like \.08, \.a8,
etc (in hexadecimal encoding) that show up
either as barely visible spaces, or not at
all in the output. They may, however, affect
the computation. Sometimes, by erasing a
piece of text and retyping the problems can
be corrected, but often it takes several
trials to get rid of them. It is certainly
very annoying and wastes a lot of time.
Do other people have these problems?
Is a solution known?
