Thanks for info. I note that Mathematica 4 can Export directly into .wmf, and will try that. I want to use PowerPoint for preparing as well as presenting slide shows because it's actually an extremely good, very widely used, multi-platform tool for the tasks involved in this -- building and editing slides, resizing, reformatting and moving elements around on the slides, entering JPEGs, organizing the slides, etc. Also, many many more people have PowerPoint and can use and share PPT presentations that have Mathematica or even an Mathematica viewer. (And as a footnote, since numerous other applications, like Textures, Acrobat, etc., have PostScript interpreters, I now suspect even more strongly that the lack of one in PowerPoint is just another deliberate anti-competitive move by Microsoft, to force their standards on the world and suppress others.)
