Try the following (I'm quoting from Tom Wickham-Jones' book on Mathematica
Graphics, p. 41):

In[1]:=
pl[p_] := Plot[Sin[x^p], {x, 0, Pi},
   PlotLabel -> StringForm["p = `1`", p],
   DisplayFunction -> Identity]

In[12]:=
Table[Show[pl[k], DisplayFunction -> $DisplayFunction],
  {k, 3}]
