Hello and thank you for your answer. > There is no "solution" that is valid universally for all values of a. Ok, I know (and would like that the software knows). > Moreover, what you seem to be asking for, that is a method for solving > such equations with arbitrary parameters in complicated cases Peraphs my question was ill-posted :( No, I'm not searching for such a thing, because it.... > is > impossible now and almost certainly will never be possible. As you wrote. > That means that, except > in very special cases, there is no way to hope to be able to write out > any "solution" to the sort of equation you are talking about. Ok, I know (and would like that the software knows). > And any > solutions that one can arrive is special cases will only be valid for > parameters lying in certain parts of the complex plane. Ok, I know and I would like that the sofware **GIVE ME THE RANGES** of the parameters where the solution is valid. On the contrary it give the solution without any other statement. An "a posteriori" computation searching for such ranges is possible, but it is more difficult than an "in solving" computation tracking the solver work (e.g. when it make a square, it have to check the sign of what it has squared, that is the source of the problem in my initial post).
