Hello, I installed Mathematica 4.2 Student Version on my Linux PC with KDE 3.1.0 and Qt 3.1.2. In the Mathematica Notebook I type "x^3" followed by "Shift + Enter". Mathematica's output is "x^9". Now I copy this "x^9" from the Mathematica Notebook into this mail. The result is: \!\(x\^3\). Why is my Mathematica not able to show the "3" in the exponent? Thanx very much for your help, Fabian Müller.
