You can get a very good rational function approximation as follows:

<< Calculus`Pade`
<< Graphics`Colors`
pade = Pade[ArcCos[x], {x, 0, 6, 6}] // Simplify
series = Normal@Series[ArcCos[x], {x, 0, 19}]
Plot[{pade, series} - ArcCos[x] // Evaluate, {x, 0, 1}, PlotStyle -> {Red, 
    Blue}]

The Pade approximation of order {6,6} looks better than the series of order 19.
