Problem with plotting two functions

When I issue the command

Plot[{x^3 - 6x, 8 - 3x^2}, {x, -5, 4}]

The two functions are drawn but I do not see the first intersection point
at (-4,-40). In another system, I see it.

Can anybody tell me what to do?
