Hi Todd,

Instead of trying to pack everything together in one FilledPlot, try
compositing plots using DisplayTogether

Example:
<< Statistics`NormalDistribution`
<< Graphics`FilledPlot`
<< Graphics`Graphics` (* for DisplayTogether *)

ndist = NormalDistribution[0, 1];
npdf = PDF[ndist, x];

DisplayTogether[
   FilledPlot[npdf, {x, -2, -1}, Fills -> RGBColor[1, 0, 0]],
   FilledPlot[npdf, {x, 1, 2}, Fills -> RGBColor[1, 0, 0]]]
