Dear MathGroup, I just wanted to say that it has been a tremendous pleasure
and what a great learning opportunity (!) to read and re-read all your
replies to my recent posting.
It has also been a joy to find that for the first time in many, many months
my non-spam email exceeded spam both in number and quality ;)
For your information, the problem arose from a region labeling task in image
processing. Simply put, the task is to assign a unique label to each
connected region of 1-pixels in a binary image.
Thank you all,
Mariusz
