On my setup...

   $Version
"5.0 for Microsoft Windows (November 18, 2003)"

... (which is actually version 5.0.1.1 !), I DO see a space between 
"wristwatch" and time", of the same size to the naked eye as the other 
two inter-word spaces.

(This is at a native screen resolution of 1600x1200 with an ATI graphics 
card.)
