printing graphics to a postscript file

I made some contour plots with mathematica, and used the Export command to print them to
post script files. I labeled the x and y axes ([110],[001]) respectively. When I looked at the
post script files the [ ] symbols showed up as @ and D. Is there an easy way to fix this?
