Hi Lea,
if I understand you correctly, you want:
a={6.5,9.5,8.5,4.5,9,12.5,12.5,17.5,18.5,11};
FoldList[2*#2-#1&,5,a]
--> {5,8.,11.,6.,3.,15.,10.,15.,20.,17.,5.}
