Yes, the "2p" means two processors or cores. As another poster correctly 
postulated, "4p" would be four, and so on.

The 32-bit kernel would be installed. The 32-bit Windows XP isn't 
capable of running 64-bit binaries, lacks the necessary system 
libraries, etc.
