Load the statistics packages and use RandomArray, i.e.

In[1]:=
<< "Statistics`"; 
RandomArray[UniformDistribution[0, 1], 6]

Out[2]=
{0.2804497445221465, 
  0.211670380827296, 
  0.8286784278387671, 
  0.7804577939982774, 
  0.7097126982987214, 
  0.32834571525210765}
