I use Import[] all the time with many format types in 5.1 and all
previous versions back to 3.0.  What's the problem?

Has the Import problem been fixed on 5.1?
Is it a documentation issue because of changes?
Wolfram has not responded to my inquiries.
 
Any help would be appreciated.
