Peter,

The DrawGraphics Mathematica package at my web site below has commands,
SplitLineOnVertical, SplitLineOnSlope and SplitLineOnDistance, which provide
easy methods for eliminating these 'return lines'.

You could also plot the curve in segments that avoid the jump points, which
is also easy in DrawGraphics. With standard Mathematica you could make the
separate plots and then combine them with Graphics`DisplayTogether.

Hi,

has someone a idea, how to avoid the vertical lines, Mathematica
produces sometimes in Plot routines?
