Hi Ivan,
Reduce will do it:
In[1]:=
Reduce[(x + 1)/(x - 2) > 1, x]
Out[1]=
x > 2
Also, you could check the packages Algebra`InequalitySolve`,
Algebra`AlgebraicInequalities` and Graphics`InequalityGraphics`.
