Hi Kristoph,

you might want to play with the AspectRatios, but I think


Block[{$DisplayFunction=#&},
     p1=Histogram[Table[10Random[],{1000}],AspectRatio\[Rule]1.3,
         PlotRange\[Rule]All];
     p2=Histogram[Table[100(1+Random[]),{1000}],AspectRatio\[Rule]1.3,
         Axes\[Rule]{True,False}]];

Show[Graphics[{Rectangle[{0,0},{1/2,1},p1],Rectangle[{1/2,0},{1,1},p2],Blue,
         Line[{{1/2,0},{1/2,1}}]}],ImageSize\[Rule]500];

is a starting point.
