Hi All, I wonder if someone can give some insight into why some simple calculations are dramatically slower (or don't even simplify) in Mathematica 5.2 which run perfectly well in 4.2. I'm using a G5 Mac OSX 10.4. In particular I find the following (artificial) integral: Timing[Integrate[(a+c-sdfd+34e)Exp[(a+4c-d+34e) x^2+(b-54c+4h) x+c],{ x,-Infinity,Infinity},Assumptions\[Rule](a+4c-d+34e)<0]] runs in 0.16 sec using 4.2, but >5 sec using 5.2. Thanks in advance! Eran Mukamel Stanford Physics emukamel at stanford.edu
