thanks everyone!  this is what i ended up doing (it's not elegant, but
it works):

dir = SetDirectory["C:\\dir"];

<< Graphics`Graphics`
<< Graphics`MultipleListPlot`
<< Statistics`NonlinearFit`

files = FileNames["*.ASC"];

rawdata = Import[#, "Table"] & /@ files;

croppedcorrelation = Table[
      Take[rawdata[[i]], {75, 185}], {i, 1, Length[rawdata]}];

statistics = Table[NonlinearRegress[croppedcorrelation[[i]], 1/m1*((1 -
m2)/(
        1 + m0/1.4) + m2/(1 + m0/
      30)), m0, {m1, m2}], {i, 1, Length[rawdata]}];
