As the use of elided (how's that?) and also internally capitalized terms expands, not just in computer jargon but in everyday life, the time may be at hand when such terms undergo elision and internal capitalization from the start, e.g. Mathematica literature and documentation never speaks of "the Front End" but only "the FrontEnd", and similar syntax is used in noncomputer fields as well. Wonder if William Safire reads this group?
