I am guessing you are referring to Section 2.10.8, as in 
http://documents.wolfram.com/mathematica/book/section-2.10.8. 

Did you set 
      rcoord := {Random[ ], Random[ ], Random[ ]} 
(In[1] in that section) ??


Also - the plot will look better and run faster if you 
include the 10 in 

       Show[Graphics3D[ Table[Cuboid[10 rcoord], {20}] ]]
