The space around the plotted points and lines is put there on purpose,
I think. You may be able to control it using an explicit PlotRange.

Show[Graphics[{Circle[{0, 0}, 1]}],
   AspectRatio -> 1, PlotRange ->
    {{-1, 1}, {-1, 1}}];
