License server issue

Problem ======= The user is killing the mathematica kernel with the "Kill" button when using the front end and on some occasions it is taking up to 15 mins for the license to release on license server before they can use the kernel again. Is this a known problem running the license server on solaris, should we run the license server on another platform?
