Thanks for the replies. To explain this more clearly, the ODEs are generated automatically and include variables which will be plotted against time at the end and parameters. The values of the parameters are provided in a list after the ODEs are generated (so they don't change). The initial values of the variables are also provided in a list (they change in time). For about 5 out of the 30 variables, I want to keep the initial values constant.
