Hi All,

This question was asked once here in 1999, back before Tablet PC,
etc. The idea is to be able to:
   a. hand-sketch a 2D expression (say in Standard Form) ,
   b. have it recognized and type-set rendered in cleaned-up form
(i.e., frrom ink to typeset)
   c. have the equivalent (say MathML) expression piped into the
Mathematica Front End as if it had been keyboarded into an input
cell.
Of course, one can imagine broadening the scope and adding details to
this basic construct.

First, I wonder if Wolfram is planning to provide this capability
(perhaps as a paid add-on, or built-in)?

Second, I wonder if you out there have come upon any companion
candidate software packages that offer such input functionality?

I have separately posted related (non-Mathematica-specific) findings
at sci.math (under topic "Pen, Tablet Input for CAS?") to comply with
Moderator's request.

Thanks!
