Hi, Andrew, 

    I can't reproduce this (using any of the suggestions for Automatic in the 
PlotRange) at all. The horizontal axis is always visible, where it should be. 
This is using 

In[5]:= $Version

Out[5]= "6.0 for Linux x86 (32-bit) (April 20, 2007)"
