Hi Dimitris,

I suppose you want a curve that is symmetrical about the y axis with a 

peak at x=0.

You could e.g. try:

Plot[1 - Abs[x]^p, {x, -1, 1}]

where 0<p<2, the smaller p, te sharper the apex.
