Yes,I too would go with the book:
Heikki Ruskeepaa's _MATHEMATICA NAVIGATOR: Mathematics, Statistics, and
Graphics_, 2nd Edition, Academic Press (Elsevier), 2004.
Its an excellent introduction.I tried consulting the Mathematica guidebooks
of Micheal Trott but they are too hard for a newbie.But for experienced
users it would be a terrific book.
