Re: can I keep old version running after update to Ver 6?

One issue appears inconvinient leaving the old version on the
computer: At least on my Windows XP, version 5.2 recognizes after
installation of 6.0 only DOS-type notebook file names. For this
reason, the autosave mechanism of initialization cells to a package
results in 5.2 to truncated package file names of the kind abcdef~1.m.
Is there a workaround for this problem?

Hannes Kessler
