On my Windows XP system, too.

It also causes one of those pop-up "Please tell Microsoft about this 
roblem" windows from which one can send an error report.

I wonder whether Microsoft ever forwards these to the companies whose 
programs crash.  If so, then perhaps the more of us who evaluate that 
line and thereby generate the report to Microsoft, the sooner the error 
will be called to the attention of Wolfram Research!
