Page numbers in Mathematica

Can someone please tell me how to do a simple thing such as print page
numbers with a document that I have typed in Mathematica (using
Article style)?

Initially, it was printing the page number (when I made the PDF file)
only for even numbered pages. I tried to change some options to see if
I could page number on every page, even and odd, and now all I get is
a LONG expression like:

Cell[TextData[.......

How can I get back to page numbers. The documentation is amazingly
useless.

Would really appreciate any help.
