Interesting. FWIW, Let Over Lambda uses "#." . I figure that the
footnote is part of the sentence so should appear before the full
stop. I also disagree with the convention of including the stop
inside quotation marks.
Official way: John said "hello."
My way: John said "hello".
IMO, the stop is not part of the quotation, it is part of the sentence.
But maybe programming has warped my mind here. :)
