I don't know how either of these utilities works, but if they change the data on the clipboard while Mathematica is in the foreground (something which is strongly discouraged by Apple), Mathematica will not notice the change until the next time it is activated. So you might be able to work around this problem by clicking on any other application to activate it then clicking back on Mathematica (or command-tab). -Rob
