Style Sheet Font Family Not Applied to Standard Form Input Cell

I have a style sheet with the font specified as Arial for input cells. It
seems that input cells in standard form format ignore the style sheet font
settings except for the font size. If I change the size of the style
sheet's font for the input cell type, the size immediately changes in the
notebook associated with that style sheet, but if I change the font family,
nothing happens. The font family shows as Courier New for all standard form
input cells.

Anyone know why the font family can't be set to Arial or anything else in
the style sheet and effect the standard form input cells in a notebook
associated with that style sheet?

Thanks,

Stewart G. Bodzin
