sharing CDF without plugin??

Hello,
I saw somewhere that Wolfram research is working to eventually make
CDF files to be shared without the need of plugin. Can anyone tell me
when that will happen?

Question 2: Is there a way to allow import/export of files in CDF? Or
is the import/export functionality available in webMathematica?
