Hi,
I have a remote configuration from Windows7 (64 bit) to a Linux x86_64
(Ubuntu11.10). I set the Notebook kernel to remote. When I execute (2+2)
I get a password window. On the remote machine I see that the
authentication passed and I see that a remote math session to be launched:
tsariysk 19772 0.0 0.0 235828 20268 ? Ssl 07:40 0:00
/usr/local/Wolfram/Mathematica/8.0/SystemFiles/Kernel/Binaries/Linux-x86-64/MathKernel
-mathlink -LinkMode Connect -LinkProtocol TCPIP -LinkName
52956 at 192.168.1.153,52957 at 192.168.1.153 -LinkHost 192.168.191.14
Still, (2+2) is never evaluated. After a while I get an error message:
"The kernel craft28 failed to connect to the front end. (Error =
MLECONNECT). You should try running the kernel connection outside the
front end."
which I do not understand. What is wrong and how can I track this problem?
Thanks in advance,
--Ted
