Hi,
the function TrigToExp does this for you:
In[1]:=
sol = y[x] /. First[DSolve[Derivative[2][y][x] + k^2*y[x] == 0, y[x], x]]
Out[1]=
C[1]*Cos[k*x] + C[2]*Sin[k*x]
In[2]:=
Collect[TrigToExp[sol], Exp[_], Simplify]
Out[2]=
(1/2)*E^(I*k*x)*(C[1] - I*C[2]) + ((1/2)*(C[1] + I*C[2]))/E^(I*k*x)
