I am trying to code a program in mathematica to convert a matrix consisting of 1's and 0's into another matrix consisting of 1's and 0's. Basically, i just need mathematica to eliminate a certain "connection of 1's". For example:

to transform the matrix {{1, 1, 0}, {0, 1, 0}, {0, 0, 1}}

into {{0, 0, 0}, {0, 0, 0}, {0, 0, 1}}

*it's much clearer in MatrixForm.

As you can see, the 'cluster' of connection 1's is removed and replaced to become zero.

Please could anyone help me with this problem? Would really appreciate the help. Thanks.
