I need to alter the size of 2 named lists, passed by the pattern variables within a function. After a bit of digging I found Unevaluated or SetAttribute[ HoldAll] either of which work just fine.
However as soon as I put them inside a Manipulate statement -the assignment triggers multiple calls. I've seen a statement on the net that this sort of thing is forbidden in Demo's so I guess it's a known limitation.
Is there any way round the issue? It doesn't have to work as demo -it's for my own use or possibly CDF.
