If you could attach a small simple notebook showing at least
Timing[...fastSimpleExample...]
and
Timing[...slightlyDifferentMuchSlowerExample...]
then perhaps someone could track down what the problem is or suggest a way to speed this up.
If it takes several different examples so that you are almost certain that someone would be able to understand and provide an answer that would solve this for all the problems you really need to do then that would be even more helpful
