The returning for Help issue is a result of the fact that the Menu bar and Notebook window are not simultaneously active. This is a design issue that our developers are aware of and are working on for a future release. I am not sure what pressing backspace key has to do with it, however. I usually just click anywhere in or on the window of the notebook that I want to work in.
