Hi,
I just installed Mathematica 6.0.3 on my linux laptop yesterday and I am having an issue with symbols. When I type '/' in a spreadsheet, I get a box like the one you get a lot with wingdings '[]'. Also, in the Documentation Center, I get fuzzy blacked out boxes on some things.
I have already added all the FontPath's to my xorg.conf:
FontPath "/opt/Wolfram/Mathematica/6.0/SystemFiles/Fonts/Type1"
FontPath "/opt/Wolfram/Mathematica/6.0/SystemFiles/Fonts/BDF"
FontPath "/opt/Wolfram/Mathematica/6.0/SystemFiles/Fonts/SVG"
FontPath "/opt/Wolfram/Mathematica/6.0/SystemFiles/Fonts/TTF"
FontPath "/opt/Wolfram/Mathematica/6.0/SystemFiles/Fonts/AFM"
Attached is a picture of the fuzzy black stuff.
