Hey,
To be honest I have never tried it nor heard about this, but I may have an idea. My guess would be that you can use the function Show, with two objects to show: your plot and your picture, and you should I suppose set some properties of Opacity for one or both objects so that we can see both of them. The order of your objects is important in the command Show.
Hope it will give you directions.
