Hi everybody,

I'm trying to get the eigensystem of a sum and multiplication of matrices of (5120x5120) dimension.
After less than a minute of running the program Mathematica (v.6) gives me the following message:

"No more memory available.
Mathematica kernel has shut down.
Try quitting other applications and then retry."

I really appreciate any ideas how to fix that?

p.s. I'm using a laptop duo core with 4GG Ram. Also note that, the same program works if the matrix size is 1280x1280 (but takes about a 6hrs to calculate the eigensystem once).

Thank you very much,
