Actually I tried to make some nonlinear fitting to my data using the tutorial at
http://documents.wolfram.com/applications/eda/FittingDataToNonlinearModels.html
I am using the home edition of Mathematica 7.
Unfortunately I am unable to even use the Gaussian function as described in the tutorial and the EDA package is also not known to Mathematica:
Needs["EDA`"]
Get::noopen:Cannot open EDA`
Needs::nocount:Context EDA` was not created when Needs was eavluated
?Gaussian
Information::notfound:Symbol Gaussian not found
I am pretty hopeless so far.
