After opening Mathematica and making a new notebook doc it seems that the character encoding was off. I would type '[' into the document and it would show as '@' and I would type ']' and it would show as 'D'. And there are many other characters that are being replaced with the wrong symbols which is rendering Mathematica unusable. Is there any solution to this? I have already done a full configuration reset (but deleting the Base Directory) and even reinstalled Mathematica.
I'm running Mathematica 9.0.0 on OSX 10.6.8
Has anyone ran into this error?
