I have hit a snag in calculating eigenvalues and eigenvectors of symmetric, large (500x500) numerical matrices. On my Intel dual core, windows 7 64-bit system, everything works fine. If I take the exact same notebook, and try to run it on my Intel I5 QUAD core, windows 7 64-bit system, eigensystem gives the wrong answer. Also, it gives different answers if I run it on the same matrix over and over again. If I just ask for the first "k" eigenvalues, it works fine, gives the same answers as the dual core machine. Both machines have 7.0.1 installed. This is very strange and annoying. Help please?
